I recently came accross this picture of my Mom (all the way to the left) my Grandmother, my Great Grandmother, and my Aunt. I am not quite sure when this picture was taken...maybe in the 60's? It is amazing to me the differences and similarities in beauty from those generations to our so called "Generation X". It seems as if beauty was very demure but my Mother definitely has that sultry look that we see today. She doesn't have smoky eyes and lips that are painted a nude color...my Aunt doesn't have so much blush on that her cheeks look freshly pinched...they rely on their natural charm to shine through! It seems that they were comfortable in their own skin and used their body language to show their sex appeal instead of piling on products...how refreshing!Saturday, June 28, 2008

Introducing Lydia

These are pictures of one of the most beautiful brides we have ever worked with! She was married just a few short months ago at The Bowery Hotel, and she was glowing. All together there were 14 girls and each one of them was a knockout. Melissa has amazing cheekbones, so it was essential to play them up with a little Upper Crust Dust right along her cheekbone line. We added some black liner on her upper lid and a little clarifier on her inner bottom lashline. Lots of mascara, and some Palm Beach Pink Embellblush to pop her cheeks even more and Melissa was ready to party.
I noticed that Melissa's skin was amazing and she mentioned that she had a few facials before her wedding. I think the key for brides is to start really early with a beauty routine, don't wait. Melissa's teeth were gleaming white and it made her smile even more stunning. We wish Melissa and Alex all of the best in their new life together!!
